What did you last eat?
I had a large Caramel Mocha cold brew coffee with a steak egg and cheese on a plain bagel.
Share a little about yourself
Well lets see I’m 33 going on 60 some days depending on what side of the bed I wake up on. I live in the Mid Atlantic USA south of Philadelphia but I’m originally from Newport Rhode Island perhaps one of the most historic locations to visit in the USA. I have currently have 4 dogs 2 German Shepherds 1 boxer and mutt that thinks his the size of a ox. Before getting into streaming I was a volunteer firefighter/EMT in southern DE for 10 years and served in many roles within the fire house. I have seen things in my life that human eyes should never see but these things have also taught me life lessons and helped me grow into the person I am today. Today I drive a truck for a living with the biggest construction outfit in the Mid Atlantic USA delivering asphalt or stone or what ever they need me to deliver, and by night I’m hanging out on beam meeting new wonderful people and sharing my wonderful self.
Have you ever bought something online and instantly regretted it?
Not really online but I have gotten a couple of drunk tattoos, thank god it wasn’t a name…lol
Can you remember the first game that you played?
The first game that I can remember playing was mario on NES. When I was younger my parents had game systems but my brother and I where more pushed to stay outside and be active with friends. Game systems where for rainy days.
You’re favorite game ever: What is it?
Wow this has got to be the hardest question in the whole interview…lol….I would have to say Eve Online. Most people don’t know that I was heavily addicted to this game since it’s beta days. I still to this day have 13 accounts just sitting 4 of them being 2003 accounts. I have played every aspect of this game and been in some of the biggest battles ever in the game, as well as been apart of some of the biggest corps, alliances, and collations in the game. The main reason I loved this game so much was it taught me what a community was and was the first game to get me into gaming communities. I meet loads of friends playing this game and lost loads of $$$$$, but it will forever have a special place in my heart.
What brought you to Beam?
I came to beam with a old community I was apart of, and started hanging out. I was currently streaming on Twitch at the time on and off as I struggled getting views. I started re-streaming to beam and twitch and within a week I went beam only as it was clear the community that beam has was a better fit for me. I also enjoyed the point that beam isn’t as commercialized as twitch has become. I started streaming in the first place just to share my game play with friends and help friends with games, and I as I meet people I grew to love it. Today I spend countless hours trying to better my stream and the community that I am growing and have found that I truly enjoy just meeting new people and getting to know one another.
What was it about the Xtremes team that inspired you to come across?
Xtremes team was a very unique team in regards its not about the team but more about supporting beam as a platform. I heard about xtreme team by hanging out listening to lagby as I drive in the AM hours of my shift. When I realized that xtreme’s was about helping others and just making the community of beam a better place I knew I had to join, as this is what I believe in as well. Teams like xtreme as hard to come by in the streaming world most teams are about themselves and helping those on the team, not many teams are about helping the community as a whole like xtremes is.
Have you ever had a bad experience while streaming?
When I was on Twitch I made a mistake and my address slipped out, I became the target of a swatting. It was one hell of a experience if I must say. I was upset over this for awhile and didn’t stream for about a month, as it upset my whole family. The whole experience has made me a lot more cautious on what i stream and how I setup and run my streams. It also taught me that it doesn’t matter what size you are there is always someone out there that you can’t control. Since the incident I have sat down with my local PD and talked they know what I do as a hobby and if it happens again there have been some fail safes setup to prevent it.
If someone comes into your channel while you’re streaming, what makes them a great viewer?
For me just be active talk relax sit back and have fun. I love my lurkers with all my heart, but I love to see the chat rolling weather it be talking to me or the chat talking amongst them selves or even playing the games that come with the bot that I use. I love viewers that come in and want to learn a little about the game that I’m playing as well, or want to get in on a MP server and hangout. All and all the more active the better in my opinion, but I do love my lurkers as well!!!!
We all get streaming slumps, and quiet days – how do you deal with it, what’s your advice for someone going through that?
Everyone get’s into slumps and has bad days we are all human and it’s natural, but understanding this and understanding that it is just a bad day helps me. I personally just keep on trucking as they say in my industry. No one in life is perfect and with every bad day comes a better day, as well a day of learning and growing.
For me getting on stream helps me deal with a bad day as well, as when I’m behind my camera and the chat is flowing I forget about that bad day. Advise for others having a bad day, don’t forget there is always light at the end of tunnel no matter how far away it seems it is. Don’t be afraid to talk to someone and express your feelings, sometimes just getting it off your chest can make you feel that much better, if you can’t talk try writing it down in a journal this can have the same affect.
As a member of the Xtremes team, you are responsible for upholding our brand ethics and reputation, has this changed your attitude to the way you stream or affected you in any way?
Not really only because I believe in the core of the team and what it stands for. I try and have always tried to stream in a way that will better the community as a whole.
How would you like the Xtremes team to grow?
Honestly I like the team where it is at now, sometime big massive teams get to the point where management becomes a job and can take away the fun for those that run and manage teams. The team now seems to have a great group of streamers that care about the community and help grow it.
